M-ID10W - Ethernet URL Post

Currently on M-ID10W, there are two Ethernet cable communication models, being Ethernet TCP Socket and Ethernet URL Post where each model is used for a specific application.

Module Identification

In case of doubt, you can identify which ethernet model of your reader, through the settings interface.

when it is TCP Socket, a button will be available on the "General Parameters" page to restore the module settings.

URL Post Ethernet Module

With the URL Post module it is possible to post the readings via Web services, this way you will be able to receive the readings captured by the M-ID10W in your web portal, but it is not possible to receive commands back as in the TCP Socket module.

Just like the TCP Socket module, the URL Post is very simple to use, first of all, we need to connect the reader to a network outlet on your internet, it can be a Router, Hub, etc.

To be able to use this functionality, it is necessary to perform some of the following configurations on the ethernet module page.

  • Type IP : type of network address where the module will communicate.
  • IP : address of your internet network.
  • Mask : subnet of your internet host.
  • Gateway : location of your network communication.
  • Operation Mode : type of communication between the reader and your software.
  • Port TCP Server : TCP port for reader access.

To make sure that your network is connected to your internet, you can enter the "list debug" located in the "General Parameters" tab, if successful, you will have a message like:

Warning

For the module to be able to connect to your network, your M-ID10W must be set to "Operation Mode" in "Access Point", otherwise the reader will ignore the cable connection and use only WiFi for communication with Web services.

Warning

M-ID10W readers with firmware version lower than 8.1, confirming ethernet module MAC address static URL_POST, with code: DE:AD:BE:EF:FE:ED.
